HJOC TEAM

Hinna J. Chowdhry is the Founder and Creative Director of HJOC design team bringing about a keen sense of innovative design allied to a modern intelligence of form.

Her ‘Jewelry Journey’ began almost two decades back.

Having graduated from Pakistan Institute of Fashion & Design (PIFD) in 2002 with a degree in Fashion Design, she moved on to attend the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Carlsbad, California, USA for a comprehensive course in ‘Jewelry Design, Jewelry Manufacturing, Wax Carving and Stone Setting’ with a distinction. She is also a certified Graduate Gemologist from GIA’s branch in Bangkok, Thailand.

In 2005-06, Hinna was the recipient of the Director’s Award/ Male Jewelry category of the Tahitian Pearl Trophy India.

Hinna joined PIFD in 2004, as Consultant/ Faculty and started preparing the groundwork for establishing a jewelry department. With the help of a dedicated team and foreign experts, the Department of Jewelry Design and Gemological Sciences officially launched in 2008 where she headed this new department as the Course Coordinator, handling all academic and administrative matters from 2008-2014.

Hinna has always been focused on knowledge, ethics and integrity as an educationist, primarily working with PIFD to bridge the gap between artisans and jewelry professionals to help diversify the traditional Gems and Jewelry Industry in Pakistan, by mentoring young men and women to enter this field as professionals/ entrepreneurs.

Being an educator at heart, Hinna finds the institution of teaching extremely rewarding and satisfying. Her new entrepreneurial journey is therefore innately and deeply connected to that feeling of creating and nurturing an idea and bringing it to fruition.
